An intellect, revolutionary poet, Faiz Ahmed Faiz is one of the renowned figures of his times. He was nominated for Nobel Prize for Literature four times. Faiz Ahmed Faiz had many friends in his field, and most respected one was Yevgeny Yevtushenko, a Soviet poet who claimed “In Faiz's autobiography... is his poetry; the rest is just a footnote”. Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry is based on Western models and his work was influenced by Allama Iqbal and Mirza Ghalib, incorporating modern Urdu with the traditional roots. Faiz Ahmad Faiz video poetry is based on conventional subjects of love and beauty, but later these were transformed into the larger social and political issues of the day.
